Fall 2024: My Favorites & Inspirations

Tuscany Landscape, September 2024.

Hey!

It’s been a while since I last shared what’s been inspiring me, so I’m excited to write again. Here are some of my current favorites, from music and books to my latest sketchbook pages. Let’s dive in!

1. Moodboard ✨

2. What I’m Listening To 🎶

Post Malone ft. Morgan Wallen — I Had Some Help

Knox — Treadmill

Jeff Rey — 1000 Liebeslieder

+ Fall Out Boy & All Time Low mix

3. Books on My Nightstand 📚

“Temporary Perfections”, Gianrico Carofiglio

The way the narrator tells this story feels so refreshing — mixing the everyday with the unexpected. I can picture every scene so clearly and get lost in the life of the main character, a lawyer-turned-detective.

4. Sketchbook Highlights ✏️

Collage, painting with coffee, layering old magazine clippings, receipts, packaging scraps, and markers that had been long forgotten. Combining markers with splashes of alcohol, dyeing my own paper, and simply reveling in the creative process.

This is about breaking free from the constraints and expectations tied to each medium — immersing myself in the pure joy of making whatever feels right in the moment. And learning some unexpectedly cool techniques along the way!

These past months have been all about “getting messy and savoring the process.” I can’t remember the last time I created with this much freedom and joy!

5. Other Favorites ❤️

Favorite TV Show: Prison Break

Excuse me, but how has no one made me watch this series until now? It’s absolutely gripping! Drama, complex characters, intricately crafted schemes — it’s packed with edge-of-your-seat, barely-breathing moments. It also happens to be my boyfriend’s favorite show, so as we ran out of new things to watch, I figured it was time to get a glimpse into his taste.

It’s such a fantastic throwback to the golden age of early 2000s TV — right up there with iconic shows like Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and Grey’s Anatomy. I’m thrilled I missed Prison Break the first time around, because now I get to experience it with fresh eyes — and love every second of it!

If you skipped it back in the day, do yourself a favor and dive in. And if you did watch it then, maybe it’s time for a rewatch?

Favorite movie: A Quiet Place

This movie was so good!! I don’t know why I waited so long to see it. Afterward, everything around me felt so loud — I was on edge just hearing the tiniest sounds. It’s one of those films that pulls you in, quiets you down, and leaves you looking over your shoulder. A definite must-watch if you haven’t seen it yet!

Favorites from the Art World:

  • Mona Stamm — Her vibrant, colorful collages are just so FUN!

  • Studio Gazar — I love their unique ceramic pieces, especially their stunning lamps! I have the urge to get back to the studio — I think I was away from ceramics way too long.
